NYC Strip Me OFF Base Coat

NYC sent me this product to review! I am a huge fan of the NYC Quick Dry Top Coat so when I heard they came out with the Strip Me Off Base Coat I just had to try it!!

The Strip Me Off Base Coat is for easy removal of a manicure including glitter using no nail polish remover. The product goes on white but dries quick and transparent.

Since this product intrigued me I wanted to test it with several different types and brands of polish on both manicures and a pedicure. I was impressed when a cream polish came right off with no residue, I then tested a glitter polish on a manicure I wore for five days, I had no chips and when I went to peel it off the glitter came off very easily, I actually did this in front of two coworkers who didn’t believe but wanted to, they were so impressed with the removal of the glitter polish they sat there stunned. I then tried this on my pedicure with PixieDust gasp I used a base coat with PixieDust!!  The pedicure wore for over a week and came right off when I gently peeled the polish away!

For those that follow me on Instagram: coolpolishblog, Facebook or Twitter: Cool Polish then you know how much I ADORE glitter polish, with that being said go out and purchase this base coat, it retails for $1.99 and can be found at most drugstores. This product is a fraction of the cost compared to OPI Glitter Off Pealable Base which retails for $9.00 and is owned by the same company!

This blog is for the remaining five polishes in the collection.

I’ll start by saying you NEED these two glitter polishes in your life, for $1.99 each you can’t go wrong, they go on smooth, dry quick, look amazing, and last on the nail.

Fashion Queen-gold glitter polish with larger lighter gold glitter.

Rule the City-dark grey glitter polish with larger red hex glitter.

For the three remaining polishes they are part of the In a New York Color Minute Collection two shimmers, and one jelly all have two coats.

Crown Gold-gold shimmer polish-I can live without this shade in my life the formula is nice though.

Queen of the City-dark burgundy shimmer, this is an amazing shade, typically I do not go for darker polishes but this one is worth picking up.

Royal Chick, a brown jelly.

Glitter gradient with Royal Chick and Fashion Queen.

NYC Fashion Queen-Limited Edition

I purchased the new Limited Edition Fashion Queen Collection from CVS, the display had a $1.00 off coupon and were buy one get one 50% off, I purchased the entire collection for under $6.00.

There are nine shades in this collection, four jelly based Glitters: Ruby Queen, NY Princess, Blue Majesty, and Queen’s Jewels, two glitter based shades: Rule the City, and Fashion Queen and then three In a New York Color Minute formula: Royal Chic (jelly), Crown Gold (shimmer), and New York Color (shimmer).  All six glitters are labeled Crystal Couture.

These are not textured polishes they are simply glitter polishes.

For this blog I am going to focus on the four jelly based shades, these have two coats, went on smooth, dried fast and do not have a top coat, the formula is amazing!

Ruby Queen-red based jelly with medium Pink holo glitter and mini red glitter.

NY Princess-purple jelly with medium purple holo glitter and mini purple glitter.

Blue Majesty-teal jelly with a mix of medium and small light and dark teal glitter.

Queen’s Jewels-green jelly with a mix of medium and small light and dark green glitter.

I LOVE, LOVE,LOVE these glitters, they are a must have in the collection, so if you are a polish fan or you know someone who is get out and make a purchase, if you can only grab a few definitely pick up NY Princess, and Ruby Queen they are at the top of my favorites in this grouping.

NYC Top Gold Top Coat

I purchased the newly launched NYC Top Gold top coat, which was found at CVS for $1.89 per bottle. The polish is a gold leaf top coat that delivers a classy look.

The polish is similar to the Limited Edition Guilty Pleasure from Zoya, but at a fraction of the cost!

This swatch is two coats of Top Gold over Revlon’s Black Magic; it went on smooth and does take a while to dry.

New NYC Disco Inferno!

While at my local CVS this weekend I spotted the new NYC display Called Disco Inferno. This is another collection of makeup and polish from NYC. The four polishes available in this collection are Boogie Nights, Flash Back, Lets Groove and a Top Coat called Disco Inferno, the three polishes are part of the In a New York Minute Quick Dry collectio. I picked up the Disco Inferno top coat and Lets Groove.

The Disco Inferno top coat definitely lives up to its name with a mix if blue and silver glitter, small hex glitter in silver and blue with a slightly larger silver hex glitter.

Lets Groove is a dark purple that of course dries fast, I Love this color it goes on so smooth and it doesn’t stain!

Disco Inferno is painted over a blue polish and has two coats. This photo does not capture the beauty of the disco dancing on my nails!

Lets Groove is two coats.

NYC Rooftop Party

As mentioned in last weeks blog I purchased several of the NYC Rooftop Party polishes to try. Each polish came with the Grand Central Station Quick Dry top coat and is part of the NYC Quick Dry nail polish collection. The four colors which I picked up are Taxi Cab, Heat Wave, Short Shorts, and Fruit Punch.

Each swatch has two coats of color, and the Grand Central Station top coat.

Taxi Cab-a yellow with micro glitter, if you like yellow this is a great addition to your collection.

Heat Wave- a coral color which I like however the formula was not as smooth as the others and did not contain any glitter.

Short Shorts-a nice emerald green color with micro glitter, does stain so use a good basecoat.

Fruit Punch-a purple pink color with micro glitter, this color is great!
